Richard started his career in the UK at United Biscuits, working in sales, key accounts and marketing. From there he moved into media working in print and newspapers in London, moving through a number of sales and management positions.
The urge to seek new pastures took him to Australia and a role with a small consultancy that worked with large organisations in developing sales and service teams using a variety of learning and development initiatives.
Since setting up Wentworth Training in 1989 he has worked with companies large and small (from Unilever to Boodles Jewellers) in almost every industry sector (from broadcasting to mining & resources and government) and in most regions of the world (The Americas, Africa, Europe, SE Asia and Oceania).
Richard loves to help create high performance service cultures, outstanding management teams and to improve internal communication.
With a deep and wide ranging knowledge of best practice in management, sales, change and client service and with a strong bias to what works in practice, he always works with a lightness of touch. He believes learning should be inspirational, fun, challenging and thought provoking.
On a personal level Richard is currently testing whether his leadership and negotiation skills work with his 8 and 4 year old children.
